An attribution model is a set of rules that determines how conversion value is assigned (attributed) to individual marketing touchpoints throughout the customer journey—for example, to the very first click, the last click before a purchase, or evenly across all participating channels. The choice of a specific model directly influences which marketing channel appears as the top performer in the resulting reports.
