A check after project completion is a verification carried out after the final payment has been made, usually during the sustainability period. It verifies whether the project's results still exist and serve their purpose: whether the equipment is at the place of implementation and in use, whether operations continue, whether the indicator values have been maintained, and whether the beneficiary complies with the obligations regarding publicity, insurance and archiving. Inspectors compare the actual state with the application, the contract and the submitted reports, and have access to both the documentation and the accounting records. The most common findings are mundane: relocated or sold equipment, a missing information board, interrupted operations, and untraceable documents. It is therefore worth keeping the complete project file together in one place and checking the state yourself once a year.
