False brand mention in AI

A false brand mention is a situation in which a language model states incorrect information about a company – a discontinued service, a wrong price, an incorrect registered address, or a product feature it never had. This is not malice, but a consequence of what the model draws on: old versions of the website, catalogues that no one has updated, confusion with a similarly named company, or guesswork where data is missing. The procedure is always the same. First map the extent by testing the same set of questions across several models and save the wording of the answers. Then fix the source: update the website, align the data in registers and catalogues, and remove old pages with a redirect. Finally, give the model something to cite – a clear page with current facts. The change will not show up immediately, but gradually as the sources are refreshed.
