A contract with a marketing agency is meant to protect the company above all at the moment the cooperation ends. Besides the scope of services and price, therefore, keep an eye on four things. The first is remuneration: distinguish the monthly fee for work from the media budget that is passed through to advertising systems, and agree whether the agency charges a fixed amount or a percentage of the budget, which would motivate it to spend more. The second is ownership of accounts, data, creative work and licences for photos or texts. The third is the notice period, together with the obligation to hand over access, materials and work in progress in a usable format within a set deadline. The fourth is reporting – in what structure and how often you receive a report, and which metrics you have direct access to. Add confidentiality, and at the same time retain the right to mention the cooperation in your references.
