Application for a non-repayable financial contribution (NFP)

An application for a non-repayable financial contribution (NFP) is a formalised document through which the applicant responds to an announced call and applies for support from EU funds. It is submitted electronically through the ITMS21 system and contains the identification of the applicant, a description of the project, the budget, measurable indicators, the timetable of activities and mandatory annexes as required by the call. The quality of the application directly determines success – evaluators assess whether the conditions for granting the contribution and the evaluation criteria, such as relevance, cost-effectiveness or sustainability of the project, are met. The most common mistakes include a mismatch between the budget and the activities, missing annexes, poorly set indicators, and failure to meet the applicant's eligibility conditions. Once the application is approved, the signing of the agreement on the provision of the NFP follows, along with the actual implementation of the project with ongoing reporting of expenditure.
