Breadcrumbs are a horizontal strip of links that shows the path from the homepage to the page currently displayed. Their importance grows with the depth of the website and with the proportion of visitors who arrive from search directly onto a subpage and have no idea where they are within the structure. They let visitors move up one level with a single click and view the whole category instead of leaving. For e-shops and large websites, they are a basic feature. They are displayed above the main heading, use the same naming as the navigation, and the last item, that is, the current page, is not a link. Supplement them with structured data, thanks to which the path can also be shown in search results instead of the URL, which improves clarity as well as click-through rate.
