Grants for Building Renovation

Grants for building renovation support the refurbishment of buildings with an emphasis on reducing energy consumption. They apply to business premises, public buildings under local authority management, and family houses, with separate schemes and different rules existing for each group. What tends to be eligible is insulation of the building envelope and roof, replacement of window and door structures, modernisation of heating and ventilation, lighting, measurement and control, and often a renewable energy source too. Demonstrating the saving before and after implementation is almost always required, that is, an energy audit or certificate, project documentation, and, for construction interventions, the relevant permit. The order is therefore fixed: first the assessment and documentation, then the application, and only after its approval, implementation. Doing it the other way round means ineligible expenditure.
