SAŽP is the Slovak Environment Agency, a specialised organisation of the environment ministry. It provides expert background material for the environment ministry, manages several information systems and registers, engages in environmental education, and takes part in implementing projects financed from both European and national sources. For local governments and companies it is relevant mainly as an intermediary and technical guarantor for projects focused on waste management, nature protection, landscape restoration, environmental burdens and green infrastructure. It also provides advice and methodological materials that help prepare a project in line with the requirements of a call. Together with the Environmental Fund, its website is among the basic resources for finding support in this area. It also manages information portals with environmental data that can be used as a basis for preparing project proposals and analyses.
