Employment contract

An employment contract is the basic document of the employment relationship and must contain four essential elements: the type of work with a brief description, the place of work, the starting date, and the wage conditions. It is concluded in writing before the employee starts, and one copy belongs to the employee. Beyond what the law requires, it is worth adding to it or to related documents other matters that later resolve disputes – the extent of working time and its scheduling, an agreement on remote work, confidentiality, rules on the use of company equipment and tools including AI, a non-compete clause, and provisions on intellectual property in the results of the work. Changes to the essential elements are made by a written amendment; the employer cannot change them unilaterally. On starting, the employee must also be made familiar with the internal regulations that form part of their duties.
