Indexing

Indexing is the process by which a search engine, after crawling a page, adds its content to its extensive database (index), from which search results for specific queries are subsequently compiled. A page that is not indexed—for example, due to a technical error or blocking—cannot appear in search results at all, regardless of the quality of its content.
