Dataswans is a Bratislava-based company that brings together data analytics, artificial intelligence, digital marketing and education. Alongside our services for businesses, we work on projects funded by the European Union and national sources. We do this in two roles: we write projects for our clients and we join international consortia as a partner.
This article explains what Research & Development covers at Dataswans, which programmes we work in and how cooperation works.
Why we work in research and development
Many companies, schools and organisations have a strong project idea but lack the capacity to navigate funding calls, eligibility rules and evaluation criteria. European programmes also require an international consortium, a clearly described impact and a plan for how the results will be used after the project ends.
Our advantage is that we do not write projects from behind a desk. We have our own expertise in data, AI and digital education, so we can design activities that are realistic and, where it makes sense, deliver them ourselves.
Two roles: project author and partner
As project authors
- we identify a suitable funding call and verify applicant and cost eligibility,
- we develop the intervention logic: objectives, activities, outputs and measurable indicators,
- we prepare the budget, timeline and mandatory annexes,
- we handle the submission, including the ITMS21+ system for EU funds in Slovakia,
- during implementation we help with monitoring reports and payment claims.
As a consortium partner
We join international projects as an expert partner for data, artificial intelligence and digital education. We typically take responsibility for work packages such as:
- development of training programmes and courses, drawing on our experience at Dataswans Academy,
- design and development of digital tools and data solutions,
- data analysis and evaluation of results,
- piloting with target groups,
- dissemination and communication of project results.
Programmes we work in
- EU funds and national sources: Programme Slovakia 2021-2027 and national grant schemes.
- Research and innovation: Horizon Europe, EIT, Digital Europe and Eurostars.
- Education and youth: Erasmus+ KA210 and KA220, European Solidarity Corps.
- Other EU programmes: CERV and Creative Europe.
We continuously monitor funding calls in Slovakia and across the EU, so we can advise our clients early on which ones are worth pursuing.
How cooperation works
- Initial consultation: we review your project idea, goals and organisational capacity.
- Call selection: you receive a GO / NO-GO recommendation with deadlines, funding rates and co-financing requirements.
- Project preparation: we prepare the application and, for European projects, help build the consortium.
- Submission: we check the formal requirements and submit the project on time.
- Implementation: as agreed, we handle reporting or join the project as a partner.
Who this service is for
We work with companies, schools, municipalities and non-profit organisations that want to finance their development from public funds. To universities, research institutions and coordinators of international projects, we offer partnership in data, AI and education.
