Agricultural Paying Agency

The Agricultural Paying Agency is the institution that administers support in agriculture, the food industry, forestry, and fisheries in Slovakia. It handles two distinct branches of support. The first is direct payments and area-based measures, applied for every year in a single application by a precisely set deadline, missing which means losing the support for the entire year. The second is project-based investment support, which is applied for through calls and has a classic project cycle including evaluation and a contract. The agency also carries out inspections, including on-the-spot checks and remote sensing surveys. For an applicant, the land and livestock register is the most important element – inconsistency with it tends to be the most common reason for a reduction in payment. Note the deadlines for the single application in your calendar well in advance, because they are not postponed, and missing supporting documents can only be supplemented within a limited period.
