The footer is the bottom part of the page, repeated across the whole website, and it serves two functions – navigational and trust-building. It should contain the company's full identifying details, including registered office, identification number, and register entry, contact information, links to the terms and conditions, the privacy policy, and the complaints procedure, as well as links to the site's main sections and to social media profiles. These are exactly the details that cautious customers check before ordering, and their absence is one of the most common reasons for distrust towards an unfamiliar online store. The footer is also useful for search engines and language models, which draw basic facts about the company from it. It should not, however, serve as a dumping ground for links to dozens of subpages.
