Withdrawal of application is an act by which the applicant informs the provider that it no longer wishes to pursue the submitted application. The proceedings are then stopped. The reason tends to be a change of intent, unavailability of co-financing, a change in market conditions, or the discovery that the project as submitted is not feasible. Withdrawal is possible up until the decision is issued and is preferable to passively waiting for a rejection, or to signing a contract for a project the company cannot see through – failure to fulfil a contract has far worse consequences, including the return of funds and sanctions. After withdrawal, there is generally nothing preventing the submission of a revised application in a further round or in another call, provided the conditions are met, including the rule on the commencement of works. Withdrawal is carried out in writing, by the same channel through which the application was submitted, and it is advisable to briefly state the reason in it.
