Slovak Business Agency is an organisation focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups. Its offer differs from classic grants in that a large part takes the form of non-financial assistance, which is more accessible for smaller companies. This includes expert advice in areas such as marketing, law, finance and digitalisation, educational and acceleration programmes for start-ups, support for participation in events, and networking with partners. The agency also manages repayable financing instruments, for example a micro-loan programme aimed at entities that find it harder to obtain a bank loan. Support is usually provided under a minor aid regime, so it counts towards a company's three-year limit. Some services are tied to the size of the enterprise and to having a registered seat outside the Bratislava region, so check the conditions before applying to a specific programme.
