Publishing process

The publishing process is the sequence of steps content goes through from idea to publication. It includes selecting and approving the topic, preparing the brief, writing, expert fact-checking, proofreading, adding images and links, deploying to the website and then checking it, and finally distribution. At every step, a responsible person and an appropriate deadline should be set. Without this arrangement, content gets stuck at the approval stage, because no one has a deadline and everyone has the right to comment. A useful tool is a short pre-publication checklist that verifies the title, description, headings, internal linking, images with alt text, working links, and indexing settings. It is precisely these small details that get left out most often when publishing at the last minute.
