Remote work and home office

Remote work means performing work outside the employer's workplace, whether regularly or occasionally. The Labour Code distinguishes home-based work and telework agreed in the employment contract from occasional home office, for which agreement between the employee and the employer is enough. Anchoring it in writing is important, because further obligations follow from it – reimbursement of demonstrably increased expenses, provision of technical equipment, data protection rules and responsibility for safety when working in a home environment. For a company, remote work is a recruitment tool in regions with a shortage of people, and at the same time a risk if it has no results-based management in place. It proves useful to determine which activities and which days are carried out together at the workplace.
