Support for science in the Recovery and Resilience Plan

Support for Science, Research and Innovation is a component aimed at raising the quality of Slovak research and linking it with the economy. It funds support for excellent research teams, attracting researchers from abroad, renewal of research infrastructure, technology transfer, and tools for cooperation between research institutions and businesses. It also includes reforms of the governance of science, including the way institutions are evaluated and financed. For companies, the most interesting part is the one devoted to cooperation with practice, which makes it possible to carry out joint projects with a university or institute, gain access to instrumentation, and involve researchers in their own development work. Calls are usually administered by agencies responsible for science and innovation, not directly by the ministry. A condition for involvement tends to be a demonstrable benefit for practice, not just a publication output.
