The Central Coordination Body (CKO) is a unit of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic that oversees the unified methodological framework for drawing EU funds in Slovakia. The CKO issues the EU Funds Management System, methodological guidelines, interpretative opinions and binding document templates – from the template call for proposals through the non-repayable financial contribution agreement to monitoring report forms. These documents are binding for all managing authorities and intermediate bodies, which unifies the procedure across programmes. The CKO also administers the ITMS information system, coordinates preparation of the programming period and monitors the pace of drawdown against commitments to the European Commission. For an applicant, the CKO is a practical resource: if the interpretation of a call differs from CKO methodology, the methodology to which the call refers takes precedence. Before submitting an application it is therefore worth verifying the current wording of the relevant methodological guideline, since it is supplemented and amended during the course of the period.
