AI in Construction

AI in Construction finds application in the office rather than directly on the construction site. The most practical uses are processing and checking project documentation, comparing bills of quantities against the project and detecting discrepancies, preparing and checking price quotes and budgets, evaluating materials for public procurement, and sorting contractual documentation. Directly on site, it is used to evaluate photos and video to track progress of works, check compliance with safety rules, and record materials. The benefit is greatest where a company prepares many tenders and loses them due to errors in the materials or a lack of time. The condition is that the documentation exists in a usable digital form – scans of poor-quality drawings undermine the result just as much as missing data.
