Grants for sport cover support for both infrastructure and sporting activity itself. The investment branch finances the construction and reconstruction of playing fields, gyms, swimming pools, athletics tracks and club facilities, with the applicant typically being a municipality or a club with a settled legal relationship to the land and building. The activity branch supports youth sport, competitions, coaches and material equipment, with part of the funds reaching individual clubs through national sports federations according to their own criteria, not directly from the call. For a smaller club, the first step is therefore to clarify whether it applies for the given purpose itself, through the federation, or through the municipality. For investments, the sustainability of operation is strictly assessed, since a playing field without a source of funding for maintenance becomes a problem within a few years.
