ITMS21 is the central information monitoring system through which electronic communication takes place between applicants, recipients and providers of aid in the 2021–2027 programming period. It follows on from the ITMS2014+ system and is used for submitting applications for a non-repayable financial contribution, submitting payment requests, monitoring reports and public procurements, and for recording the entire lifecycle of a project. Access to the non-private zone is public and allows announced calls or the list of approved projects to be searched; working in the private zone requires registration and login via an electronic identity card (eID). An application completed in ITMS21 is submitted electronically, which does away with paper delivery. It is important for applicants to set up an account in advance, since registering the entity and assigning people can take several days.
