Trade Licensing Register

The Trade Licensing Register is a public list of tradespeople and their trade licences. It states the lines of business, the date the licence was granted, any suspension of activity, and details of the responsible representative for regulated and craft trades. In business dealings it serves to verify whether the other party actually holds a licence for the activity it offers, which is particularly important in construction, transport, services and professional activities. For grant applications, an extract is often required as proof of the authorisation to carry out the project's activities, and a mismatch between the registered line of business and the planned activity leads to exclusion. Notification of a trade, as well as changes to it, can today be handled electronically through the single contact point, which shortens the process to a matter of days.
