International backlinks

International backlinks come from websites in another language or from another country. Their benefit depends on whether the company is targeting that market. For a company operating exclusively in Slovakia, a link from a foreign-language website with no topical relevance has minimal value, and acquiring such links in bulk looks unnatural. When expanding, on the other hand, they become a necessity, because a language version of the website needs its own signals from that market. They can be obtained by the same means as at home – through trade media, associations, partners, and directories in the target country – which, however, requires communicating in the local language. International trade portals and supplier databases that operate across countries are also a useful source.
