Local Action Group

A Local Action Group is a partnership of municipalities, businesses and non-governmental organisations in a defined rural area that prepares its own development strategy and obtains an allocation for its implementation. It then issues its own calls for entities operating in that area. The advantage for applicants is that these are smaller projects with simpler administration, decided on locally, without competing against the whole of Slovakia. Typically supported are small municipal investments, service development, tourism, crafts and the processing of local produce. The condition is a registered seat or premises within the group's territory and compliance with the approved strategy. The list of groups and their calls are published separately, outside the main portals. It is also possible to get involved in preparing the strategy, which lets a company or municipality influence which activities will be supported in the next period.
