Order of mention in the answer

Order of mention in the answer is the position at which a brand appears in the text of a generative answer. Although a classic ranking does not exist, the order is not random and it affects decision-making – the first option mentioned receives a disproportionate amount of attention, and with a longer list the user often does not read to the bottom. When measuring, it is therefore not enough to record whether you appeared in the answer; also record the position and whether you were mentioned with a link or by name only. The order is influenced above all by how unambiguously your content answers the question asked and how closely it agrees with what other sources state. For answers with a constraint, for example for small businesses or a specific region, the order changes markedly, which shows where your strength lies.
