Traffic from AI tools is the part of traffic that comes from the answers of generative assistants, not from classic search results. Its volume tends to be small so far, but the quality is high – the user arrives after having the topic explained to them, and is closer to a decision. The problem is measurement: some click-throughs appear in reports as direct traffic or end up in an unassigned channel, so in the report it looks as if it does not exist. The solution is to create your own channel grouping, into which you place the known domains of assistants, and track it separately. Evaluate not just the number of visits, but also the landing pages, time on page, and completed goals. The landing pages are also valuable in terms of content – they show which of your texts the models consider worth recommending.
