Beneficiary

A beneficiary is a natural or legal person with whom the provider has concluded a contract for the provision of a non-repayable financial contribution and who is responsible for implementing the project. While the applicant is the entity in the process of assessing the NFP application, they become a beneficiary only after the contract takes effect. Key obligations of the beneficiary include implementing the project in line with the approved budget and schedule, complying with public procurement rules, keeping separate project accounting, ensuring publicity in accordance with the design manual, submitting payment requests and monitoring reports, allowing checks and audits to be carried out, and meeting measurable indicators during both implementation and sustainability. The beneficiary is also responsible for the actions of the project's partners and suppliers. Breach of these obligations can lead to corrections, suspension of payments or withdrawal from the contract.
