Session recording

Session recording is the recording of the course of a visit – cursor movement, clicks, scrolling, and form filling. It adds the "why" to analytics: numbers will tell you that people drop off at the third step, a recording will show that they're clicking on an element that isn't a button, or that they can't find the delivery price. What matters most are recurring patterns, not individual visits, and signals such as rapid repeated clicking on one spot or sharp movements that betray frustration. When deploying it, address data protection: the content of fields with personal, login and payment data must be masked, visitors need to be informed, and recording must have a legal basis. Don't use recordings to track specific individuals, but to look for systemic obstacles.
