Agreements outside an employment relationship are contractual forms intended for occasional work defined by type or by result. The Slovak Labour Code recognises the agreement on performance of work, the agreement on work activity and the agreement on student temporary work, each with its own limit on hours and its own levy burden. What they have in common is that they must not be used to disguise a regular employment relationship – if an employee performs regular work at a set time and according to instructions, the labour inspectorate will assess this as illegal employment. Even under these agreements, there is an obligation to keep records of hours worked and to comply with the minimum wage converted to an hourly rate. For companies they are suitable for seasonal peaks, one-off orders and cooperation with students.
