Extracurricular activity

Extracurricular activity includes clubs, interest-based education, summer camps, and sports and artistic activities organised by schools, leisure centres, civic associations or municipalities. Projects in this area are funded mainly by local governments from their own budgets, foundations, the Fund for the Support of Sport and Art, and programmes aimed at children and young people. The budget most often consists of leader fees, materials and equipment, premises rental and transport. When evaluating, what is assessed is how many children get involved, whether it is a regular activity, and whether it is also accessible to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. A common requirement is also the continuation of the activity after support ends, so it is worth addressing from the outset what the activity will be financed from later.
