A mobility project funds the travel of persons – pupils, students, teachers or employees – abroad for the purpose of study, an internship, professional practice or training. The budget is not built up from invoices but from unit costs: a grant for travel according to the distance band, and for the stay according to the number of days and the destination country. The applicant is the sending organisation, which must have a partner on the receiving side and, in several programmes, also valid accreditation. The best-known source is Erasmus+, though national and bilateral schemes also exist. The administrative centre of gravity of the project lies in the preparation – mobility agreements, insurance and recognition of results – and in the subsequent proof that the stay actually took place to the declared extent.
