A knowledge graph is a database of entities – companies, people, places, products – and the relationships between them, from which both search engines and language models draw verified facts. Its visible manifestation is the panel with company details shown next to search results. The creation of such an entry cannot be ordered; it can be supported through consistent data across the website, directories and profiles, structured markup of the organisation, links to public databases, and mentions in credible sources. Discrepancies in the name, address or focus of activity hold back the formation of the entity. For visibility in generative tools, this foundation is of fundamental importance, because the model needs to know who the company is before it can recommend it to anyone. Verifying the company profile in the provider's services also makes it possible to manage part of the displayed data directly.
