An internal hackathon is a short, focused event during which teams of employees look for and try out specific uses of AI in their own work. Its value lies not in the prototypes created, but in the fact that the ideas come from people who carry out the processes daily and know their weak points better than management or an external supplier. The format tends to be simple: brief training, gathering problems, selecting a few to work on, and a final presentation of solutions. What matters is what follows – without a decision on which ideas will be carried through, and without time set aside to finish them, the event remains a pleasant day with no consequence. It is a good idea to schedule it after basic training, once people already know what is actually possible.
