A website redesign is a change to the appearance and structure of an existing website. Companies usually commission it for aesthetic reasons and are then surprised when demand drops after launch. The cause is always the same: during a redesign, texts get shortened, subpages that no one on the team considered important get removed, addresses change, and content that was bringing in search traffic disappears. The order of steps is therefore decisive. Before even briefing the design, have a list of pages drawn up by performance over the last year and mark those whose content must be preserved. Prepare the new website on a test address protected from indexing, and before launch check the titles, descriptions, headings, image alt text, and the sitemap. Combine the redesign with technical improvements to speed and the mobile version, otherwise you lose the opportunity you are paying for.
