A custom interface for AI models is a company environment through which employees access language models instead of using private accounts on public services. It thereby solves the most common problem companies face, which is shadow usage: when a company has a single entry point, it knows who is using the tools, for what tasks, and with what data, and it can set rules centrally. A further benefit is the ability to connect company resources, share proven prompts between teams, and switch models according to the task without the user having to deal with it. Deployment requires technical administration and a decision on where it runs and where the data is processed. The condition for success is that it be at least as convenient as the public alternative, otherwise people will go back to it.
