Posting of workers is the temporary performance of work in another state on the employer's instruction. It applies mainly to construction, installation, servicing, and transport. Before posting, a certificate of affiliation to the Slovak social security system must be obtained, to prevent double payment of contributions, and the notification obligation in the destination country must be fulfilled, which has its own electronic system and its own deadlines. A posted employee is entitled at least to the pay and working conditions in force in the state where the work is performed, which tends to be a higher level than at home, and for longer postings an even broader range of local rules applies. Checks in some countries are strict and penalties high, so it is not worth underestimating the administration even for a short-term installation job.
