Digital Assets of a Company

Digital assets of a company are all the intangible things that bring the company revenue or without which it would stop functioning: the domain and hosting, the website and its source code, advertising and analytics accounts, the database of customers and newsletter subscribers, social media profiles, content and a stock photo library, software licences, trademarks and company email. Most companies have never listed them anywhere and only discover this in a crisis situation – when an employee who held the sole access leaves, when a domain is lost due to an unpaid renewal, or when the company is sold. The basis is a simple document with three columns: the asset, who it is registered to, and who has access to it. Add renewal dates and the responsible person. This list also serves as the basis when changing supplier and when valuing the company.
