The Website Acceptance Procedure is the process by which the client takes delivery of the finished website or application and confirms that the deliverable matches the brief. Without it, disputes end up as one claim against another, because there is no agreed definition of what "finished" means. Acceptance criteria therefore belong in the contract right from the start and should be measurable: a list of functions and pages, mobile behaviour, load speed measured by a specific tool, working forms and analytics integration, accessibility, texts and image descriptions. The actual acceptance takes place on the test version, and the result is a report dividing defects by severity with a deadline for fixing them. Only after blocking defects have been fixed is the deliverable accepted and the warranty period begins to run. Tying part of the price to acceptance is the most effective tool for getting the last ten percent done.
