Linkbait

Linkbait is content created with the aim of naturally earning links, because it is useful for others to link to it. It is not clickbait or cheap provocation; it is value that cannot be found elsewhere. There are several proven formats. Original research or data from your own practice, since anyone who wants to use the figure has to cite the source. A tool or calculator that actually calculates something. A clear ranking, map or comparison that someone has laboriously compiled on others' behalf. A comprehensive guide on a topic where only fragments exist elsewhere. An updated overview of legislation or deadlines. The investment is higher than for an ordinary article, but the links keep coming for years without further work, and the same content also tends to be cited in generative search engines' answers.
