Power of attorney for the applicant

A power of attorney for the applicant is a document by which the statutory body authorises another person to act in the application proceedings. It is used when working with a grant advisor or when authorising an employee. The scope needs to be defined precisely – whether it covers only the submission of the application, or also supplements, communication with the provider, or possibly the signing of the contract, which providers usually reserve for the statutory representative. In electronic proceedings, besides the written power of attorney, authorisation to access the electronic mailbox also needs to be arranged, which is granted separately. An incorrect or missing power of attorney causes delay and, in the worst case, the ineffectiveness of the submission. It is worth attaching a copy of the document to the application even when the call does not explicitly require it. If the statutory representative changes during the proceedings, the power of attorney must be issued afresh, otherwise the acts of the authorised person are considered invalid.
