Service abroad

Service abroad is a question that determines whether a company succeeds on a new market with technically more complex products. Before buying, the customer asks what happens when the equipment breaks down, and an answer involving a callout from Slovakia will generally put them off. The solution is usually a local service partner, trained by the company and stocked with spare parts, or a network of authorised repairers. Price calculation should include the cost of holding parts in stock in the given country, training the partner, and the response times promised to the customer. Warranty terms need particular attention, since consumers' statutory rights differ between countries, and the company must comply with them according to the place of sale, not its own registered seat.
