An amendment to the NFP agreement is a written change to the contract between the recipient and the provider, adjusting the conditions of project implementation. However, not every change requires an amendment. The contract and the methodology divide changes into three levels: changes that only need to be notified to the provider (for example, a change of contact person or bank account), changes requiring prior written consent without an amendment, and substantial changes handled through an amendment – typically an extension of the implementation period, a transfer of funds between expenditure groups above a set percentage, a change of activities, place of implementation, or the values of measurable indicators. The key rule is the sequence: a change must be requested in advance and with justification, not reported after it has already occurred. Expenditure incurred in breach of the current wording of the contract is ineligible. Submit the request for a change as soon as you identify a risk of deviating from the plan.
