A grant for company digitalisation is public support intended for introducing digital technologies into business processes. In Slovakia it is provided through several channels – calls funded from EU funds, schemes targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises, and smaller instruments such as vouchers. The subject of support tends to be the purchase and deployment of software, process automation, system integration, digitalisation of production, cyber security and related training. The differences between schemes are substantial: they vary in eligible applicants, the minimum and maximum amount of support, the co-financing rate, and whether it constitutes state aid or de minimis aid. The most common reasons for failure are mundane – an ineligible applicant, a purchase made before the eligible period, and a missing link between the intended purpose and the measurable indicators.
