The contribution for self-employment is support from the Labour Office intended for a registered jobseeker who starts a business. The amount is based on the average wage and on the district's unemployment rate, and it is usually paid out in two instalments. The conditions are being on the register for a set period, completing preparatory training, and submitting a business plan with a cost calculation, which a committee assesses. After approval, an agreement is concluded with the commitment to carry on the activity continuously for a set period, usually three years, and to submit reports on the use of the funds. Early termination means repaying a proportional part. This is one of the few schemes available to natural persons without the need for co-financing from their own resources.
