AI-generated content is text, an image or a video created by artificial intelligence, and its relationship to SEO is one of the most debated topics in current marketing. Google's official position is: quality and usefulness of content is assessed, not the way it was created – AI content is therefore not automatically penalised. At the same time, however, Google's spam policies target so-called scaled content abuse, meaning the mass production of low-added-value texts created primarily to manipulate search, which has also been confirmed by broad core update actions that have cost such websites the majority of their traffic. Safe practice therefore rests on an editorial process: AI serves for research, structure and first drafts, while a human supplies verified facts, original data, experience and final accountability, so that the content fulfils E-E-A-T signals. It is recommended to avoid publishing raw output without fact-checking, to add original elements that competitors lack, and to monitor content performance after core updates as an indicator of its perceived quality.
