Size charts

Size charts state the dimensions of a product and help the customer choose the right size. For clothing, footwear and furniture, they are the most effective tool for reducing returns, which are the highest cost item in these categories. To work, they must contain the product's actual dimensions or recommended body measurements with an explanation of how to take them, not just a conversion table between numbers. Where there are multiple manufacturers, the chart must be given separately for each brand, since sizing differs significantly. It should be placed directly next to the size selection, not as a link at the bottom of the page. Notes from reviews on whether the product runs small or large are also highly valuable and are worth summarising on the product page.
