Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are a part of Horizon Europe focused on people in research, not on the research topics themselves. They fund doctoral networks preparing young researchers, postdoctoral fellowships enabling work at another institution or in another country, and staff exchanges between the academic and business sectors. For companies, the last two instruments are of particular interest: an undertaking can act as a host organisation, take on a researcher funded by the programme, or send its own people to a research institution. The benefit is access to expert capacity without permanent employment and the forging of international cooperation. A condition is usually the mobility rule, which requires the researcher to come from a country other than the one where they will be working.
