Practical exercises

Practical exercises are tasks that training participants work through using their own company materials instead of generic examples. This is the difference that matters most for whether what is learned actually transfers into work. If a salesperson prepares a real quote for their own customer during the session, and an accountant processes a real document, they leave with a finished result as well as confidence that the approach works. With generic examples, everyone tells themselves that their own work is different, and does not use the tool. Preparing such training requires the company to supply materials in advance and to resolve which data may be used – sensitive documents need to be anonymised or replaced with a realistic equivalent. It is precisely this preparation that distinguishes tailored training from an off-the-shelf course.
