Links from profiles

Links from profiles come from company listings on social networks, in directories, on portals, and in community services. Most of them carry an attribute that does not pass on authority, so their value for website evaluation is low, and mass-creating hundreds of profiles is wasted time. Nevertheless they matter for three other reasons: they bring genuine traffic from places where people look for the company, they confirm the consistency of the name, address, and contact details across the internet, which strengthens the company's entity, and language models draw basic facts from them. A practical approach is to set up and maintain a few dozen relevant profiles with complete and consistent information, instead of hundreds of empty listings in dubious directories.
